Dear Publisher!

Our new section - "Vinyl & Hi-Res" is the special place for publishing the rips of musical albums taken from a non-standard sources as:
  • Vinyl LPs ripped with serious technical equipment
  • Multichannel music copied from a DVD-Audio sources
  • SACD-layer extracted via analogue output
  • High resolution studio masters, available directly from label (include "Digital download" higher than 16 bit)
  • Any tapes presented in higher than 24 bit/48 kHz, etc...

Just because you've ripped an old vinyl LP in the digital format does not make it a specific audiophile product. Same as the original vinyl album ripped to MP3 files does not fit here. The posting of music grabbed from the usual (Red Book) Compact Discs is strongly forbidden in this section.

Vera Kappeler & Peter Conradin Zumthor - Babylon-Suite (2014)
FLAC (tracks) 24 bit/88,2 kHz | Time - 47:48 minutes | 808 MB
Official Digital Download - Source: HighResAudio.com | Digital Booklet

The ECM debut of the duo of Vera Kappeler and Peter Conradin Zumthor presents music commissioned for the Origen Cultural Festival. It is music dominated by low registers, dark hues. The Babylon referenced in the title is the Babylon of the Book of Daniel, the lion’s den, the young men singing in the fiery furnace, a place of perdition, a labyrinth... The inspirational starting point launches creative composing and improvising and the shaping of strange and poetic material which is much more than ‘programme music’ The “Babylon-Suite” is self-contained, autonomous. The piano and drums duo leaves spaces and ellipses for the imagination to fill. Kappeler’s pianistic touch and phrasing, most subtly detailed and underpinned by Zumthor’s melody-and-texture conscious drumming, draw the listener in, deeper into the dream.

Cuarteto Casals - Haydn: Die sieben letzten Worte (2014)
FLAC (tracks) 24 bit/96 kHz | Time - 60:12 minutes | 1,16 GB
Official Digital Download - Source: Harmonia Mundi/Qobuzzz | Digital Booklet

Haydn composed his orchestral version of the Seven Last Words for Good Friday devotions in Cádiz. The task of creating a purely instrumental 'oratorio' consisting of seven contemplative slow movements was by no means an easy one; but the outcome was a work of sublime nobility. In its day, it was quite popular and inspired several transcriptions, including the version for string quartet heard here in a performance by the Barcelona-based Cuarteto Casals that is both stylistically sensitive and emotionally compelling.

Hank Mobley - Mobley's Message (1956) [Analogue Productions Remaster 2012]
PS3 Rip | SACD ISO | DSD64 Stereo > 1-bit/2.8224 MHz | 41:57 minutes | Scans included | 1,36 GB
or FLAC 2.0 Stereo (converted with foobar2000 to tracks) 24bit/88,2 kHz | Scans included | 891 MB

Saxophonist Hank Mobley's 1956 date for Prestige, Mobley's Message, is an often overlooked gem of the era. Joining Mobley here is an all-star cast of musicians including trumpeter Donald Byrd, alto saxophonist Jackie McLean, pianist Barry Harris, bassist Doug Watkins, and drummer Art Taylor. Essentially a high-energy blowing session, the album features some stellar bop-oriented improvisation and is well worth seeking out.

The Modern Jazz Quartet – Space (1969)
Max Flac 24Bit/44.1kHz = 499 MB | Mp3 VBR0 = 59 MB | No Scans | rar/zip
Remastered Vinyl LP 1996 | Apple SAPCOR 10 | Jazz | USA

The Modern Jazz Quartet took a hiatus from Atlantic Records to record two LPs for The Beatles' Apple label. Despite the switch, The MJQ's music remained unchanged; it was too classic to alter. This out-of-print album has among its selections a pair of obscure John Lewis originals ("Visitor from Venus" and "Visitor from Mars"), vibraphonist Milt Jackson's ballad feature on "Here's That Rainy Day" and the lengthy "Adagio from Concierto De Aranjuez." Overall this is an average but worthy outing from a group whose excellence could always be taken for granted.

Jean Michel Jarre ‎- Equinoxe
Label: Polydor/POLD 5007 | Released: 1978 |Genre: Progressive-Electronic
Vinyl | LP Cover (1:1) | FLAC | 24bit/96kHz & 16bit/44kHz

Essential: A masterpiece of progressive rock music.
The most perfect Jarre release for me, "Equinoxe" defines Jarre's classic sound extremely well, maybe even better than the previous "Oxygene" album.

Shelby Lynne - Just A Little Lovin' (2008) [APO Remaster 2012]
PS3 Rip | ISO | SACD DSD64 Stereo > 1-bit/2.8224 MHz | 39:19 minutes | Scans included | 1,28 GB
or FLAC 2.0 Stereo (converted with foobar2000 to tracks) 24bit/88,2 kHz | Scans included | 839 MB

Shelby Lynne has followed her own sometimes reckless, always adventuresome muse throughout her career. Just a Little Lovin' is her personal homage to the late, legendary Dusty Springfield. Nine of its ten cuts are inextricably linked to the late British vocalist whose sway Lynne came under years ago, but a chance conversation with Barry Manilow -- of all people -- led to the making of this record. Lynne doesn't attempt to sound like Springfield. She uses her own phrasing and rhythmic sensibility.
